El Viandante means “The Traveler” in Italian.  Established since 2005 and renovated in 2009, Hotel El Viandante provides clean and cozy rooms for travelers to rest, to plan, to reflect, and to reconnect to nature.

El Viandante is surrounded by wonderful nearby places to explore and visit but during down time when the harsh weather keeps the guests inside, the guests can engage in a board game with their company in our spacious breakfast room, or enjoy themselves with a book & a cup of hot tea in our enclosed porch area with the forever morphing weather in view.

El Viandante is a short walk away from Santa Elena town just off the main road to Monteverde Reserve.  The hotel sits facing a four star hotel – Hotel Sapo Dorado across the road, while friendly local residences surround the other sides.
